York County Farm Receives Pennsylvania Leopold Conservation Award

Flinchbaugh's Orchard and Farm of York County was announced as the recipient of the Pennsylvania Leopold Award at this year's Farm Show in Harrisburg. This $10,000 award is presented annually by the Sand Foundation and several partners in honor of renowned conservationist Aldo Leopold, to recognize farmers, ranchers, and forestland owners who demonstrate dedication to land, water, and wildlife habitat resources in their care.

Flinchbaugh's Orchard and Farm is operated by three generations of the Flinchbaugh family, and they farm over 2,000 acres of cropland in York County. Some of the conservation practices they utilize include cover crops, grass buffers, no-till, integrated pest management, and precision agriculture technology.
