The PA Agri-Link program offers low-interest loans in exchange for implementing approved conservation practices that reduce nutrient and sediment pollution.
After being re-established in 2019, the program has recently been funded with a $2.5 million state appropriation that subsidizes payments to offset interest rates.
Treasury will pay a lending institution the full value of the qualifying Agri-Link loan. The borrower’s interest rate is reduced by a subsidy provided by the State Conservation Commission (SCC). Borrowers pay back principal and interest to their lenders, and Treasury is paid principal and interest every six months over the life of the loan by the depository institution.
