PA DEP extends current NPDES PAG-13 permits

On September 24, 2022, PA DEP announced the extension of the current National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for Discharges of Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) (PAG-13). Persons currently operating under the existing PAG-13 that will expire on March 15, 2023, will now be able to continue operating under the current permit until March 15, 2025. Deadlines contained in the existing PAG-13 are not being extended, including dates for implementation of Pollutant Reduction Plans and Pollutant Control Measures.

DEP is planning to convene a PAG-13 workgroup to gather feedback on permit requirements, to develop a model for future permit terms. Members of the public will be able to provide their input on what the next PAG-13 permit should look like during the public comment period for the draft renewed PAG-13.

For more information on the extension and FAQs, please visit DEP's Municipal Stormwater page.

For questions regarding your PAG-13 permit, please contact Jamie Eberl at jeberl@pa.gov or 717-772-4058.
