Basin Retrofits

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council's (PEC) comprehensive Basin Retrofit Guide discusses the why and how of retrofitting stormwater basins to increase efficacy and lower pollution in waterways using a "slow, spread, soak, filter" framework. The guide includes sections on traditional versus green stormwater basins, levels of retrofitting with associated costs, personnel and permitting requirements, public outreach and operation and maintenance. There is also a robust resources section. Published in 2012 by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council.

Basin Retrofits, also from PEC, is a shorter form brochure summarizing the ideas from their Basin Retrofit Guide.

PEC's 2008 paper Maintaining Stormwater Basins focuses on maintenance of basins on the residential and municipal levels.
