Viewing PDFs in GOOGLE CHROME
You can set your GOOGLE settings to either view a PDF in a separate window or saving it to the downloads folder on your device.
STEP 1: To change how Google Chrome treats PDF files in the browser, follow the steps below.
- Open the Google Chrome browser.
- Click the three dots icon in the top-right corner of the browser window.
- Select Settings from the drop-down menu that appears.
- On the Settings window, under Privacy and security, click the Site Settings option.
- Scroll down the Site Settings screen to find and click the PDF documents option under Additional content settings.
- Next to Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome, click the toggle switch to set to Off position. Chrome downloads a PDF when the toggle switch is set to On and displays a PDF in the browser when set to Off.
STEP 2: If STEP 1 does not allow you to view PDFs as instructed under Site Settings, you may need to add a PDF Viewer plug in. It’s simple to download. The PDF Viewer uses HTML5 to display PDF files directly in the browser.
Go to the GOOGLE Chrome Web store at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pdf-viewer/oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm/related. Find extension called PDF Viewer. Download extensions auto install on your Chrome browser. When you select a PDF, the document will open automatically in a new window.
